Unlike consumer-grade products, the industrial rugged devices designed for the harsh and extreme environment must conform to industry and military standards such as International Electrotechnical Commission’s Protection (IP) rating system and MIL-STD-810. A panel mounted in a car, construction, or agricultural vehicle is not only able to survive extreme vibration and temperature, but the unit must be withstanding the solar radiation. In this article, we are going to highlight the importance of panel enhancement technology from Sysgration to withstand solar radiation.
Panel enhancements are specifically designed for outdoor use and certified for numerous industries. Sysgration’s panel enhancement technologies are robust and able to withstand the solar radiation. All the test procedure has been through the procedure I and procedure II according to MIL-STD-810H Method 505.7 to evaluate material likely to be exposed to solar radiation during its life cycle in the open and hot climates and when heating effects are of concern.
Procedure I
Exposing the test item to continuous 24-hr cycles of controlled simulated solar radiation and temperature as indicate on the figure below.
Goal: to establish the highest temperature that the test item will reach during repeated cycles.
Expected Result: After performing at least three continuous cycles, the panel must work properly without any mura defect.

Procedure II
Exposing the test item to continuous 24-hr cycles of controlled simulated solar radiation and constant temperature at 49 deg C (criteria A1) as indicate on the figure below to accelerate the process from the procedure I.
Goal: To investigate the effects on material of long periods of exposure to sun.
Expected Result: After 1 cycle (24 hours) the panel display needs to be normal and any form of blackish or mura cannot be present on the panel.
